As Chef you are responsible for the optimal functioning of the kitchen of Papa's Loft House & Element by Westin (Amsterdam). For this kitchen you are operationally responsible and accountable to the Operational Manager. Your basic function is to organise, delegate and control all activities and products related to the kitchen. This also includes the great challenge of introducing the new restaurant in Amsterdam with us.

has been a proven concept since 1989, with a location in the Haarlemmermeer Woods in Hoofddorp on a beautiful lake. Papa's Loft House is our location within the Element Hotel located in shopping mall Gelderlandplein with a beautiful rooftop terrace. Our products are pure, fresh and local. A place that is great now, would have been great 20 years ago and will be just as great in the next 20 years. Job requirements

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

  • As Chef you are responsible for the kitchen of Papa's Loft House & Element by Westin (Amsterdam);
  • You are responsible for managing and coaching the kitchen teams of Papa's Loft House and Element Hotel;
  • You are responsible for the operational management of the kitchens of Papa's Loft House and the Element Hotel on topics such as: staffing, team structure, control over storage, HACCP, recipes, composition of menus and stock management;
  • You will be accountable to the GM's of Papa's Loft House and the Element Hotel and work with them to ensure that the operation maximizes the product and guest experience;
  • In addition, you may be asked by the GM's of the locations to liaise with suppliers and advise on contract management.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
For the position of head chef, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player. You like to show what you have got. You cook with passion and have a feeling for flavours.


MUST HAVES

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a sous chef; minimum of 2 years managerial experience
  • Knowledge: knowledge of commodities, hygiene and HACCP regulations, cooking techniques, purchasing prices and general developments in the market;
  • Competencies: stress resistant, improvisational ability, positive attitude, collegial, friendly and flexible;
  • "Can do" mentality.
