A stay at Element by Marriott Amsterdam Hotel should feel like coming home: carefree and familiar. Our Front Office team plays a key role in this. Because we focus on long-stay guests (stays of several weeks or months), hospitality for us is about more than just a smooth check-in or check-out. We create a place where guests truly feel welcome. During your internship, you’ll learn how to provide a warm welcome and ensure a smooth stay. Under the guidance of experienced colleagues, you’ll develop into a professional Front Office associate.
What will you be doing?
Under the guidance of the Front Office team, you will be responsible for:
Welcoming guests and assisting them with check-in and check-out.
Answering guests’ questions at the front desk, by phone, and via email.
Answering and handling phone calls and guest requests.
Checking and processing reservations in the hotel system.
Processing payments and assisting with administrative tasks.
Noting guests’ special requests and communicating them to the appropriate departments.
Collaborating with colleagues from departments such as Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Sales to provide guests with the best service.
Learning how to handle complaints and unexpected situations, always under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
Ensuring the reception area maintains a professional and welcoming appearance.

Job requirements
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic student with a passion for hospitality. You’re eager to learn, welcoming, and enjoy interacting with people from different cultures. You’re not afraid to take the initiative and see an internship as the perfect opportunity to further your personal development.
What do we expect from you?
You are enrolled in a vocational (MBO) or higher vocational (HBO) program in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Tourism, or a related field.
You are looking for a hands-on internship.
You are fluent in Dutch and English (additional languages are a plus).
You are presentable, enthusiastic, and service-oriented.
You work with attention to detail and are eager to learn.
Experience with OPERA is a plus, but not required.
You are flexible and can easily commute to the hotel.
