Do you see it as a challenge to work with your colleagues to build a beautiful and new restaurant with a rooftop and a solid concept? Are you a chef and ready for the next step? Then we are looking for you! Papa’s Loft House is the hotspot of Gelderlandplein and will have a brand-new renovated kitchen in August 2024.


As Head Chef, you are responsible for the daily operations in the kitchen. You lead the team, create the schedules, act as a point of contact for the team, and provide coaching. You also ensure that there is always sufficient stock and keep an eye on the costs. Additionally, you will be involved in the execution and preparation of events, such as BBQs and walking dinners at our restaurant and on the rooftop. You enjoy contributing ideas about the future of our brand and providing our guests with honest dishes. You also think along and organize inspiring outings for the kitchen teams of:


PAPA'S HOUSES

Papa’s is a proven concept since 1989, with the location Papa’s Beach House in the Haarlemmermeerse Bos in Hoofddorp by a beautiful lake. And now our second location in the Element Amsterdam Hotel located in the shopping mall Gelderlandplein with a beautiful rooftop; Papa’s Loft House. Our products are pure, fresh, and local. In addition, Papa’s also offers various possibilities for organizing private events such as BBQs, walking dinners, corporate drinks, and weddings. Element by Westin is in the building next to Papa’s Loft House and is part of Marriott International. The lifestyle hotel has 160 modern design rooms, several meeting rooms; all with smart design and inspired by nature. We share part of the kitchen in Papa’s Loft House with our colleagues from the Element.

Job requirements

A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF…
The kitchen is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 21:00. You are responsible for the operational management of the kitchen on topics such as staffing, team structure, control over supplies, HACCP, recipes, and inventory management. You report to the Operational Manager and have weekly meetings with them. You make the schedule at least 3 weeks in advance, so you and your team know what to expect! Work hard, play harder!

WHO ARE YOU?

  • At least 2 years of experience as a sous-chef and ready for the next step.
  • An enthusiastic person with a huge amount of energy.
  • Knowledge of hygiene and HACCP regulations, cooking techniques, purchase prices, InOne, Nostradamus, and general market developments.
  • We like it if you can delight our guests with beautiful dishes from the Green Egg.
