For Papa’s Loft House, we’re looking for a Restaurant Manager who makes a difference for our guests and colleagues every day. Together with the Operations Manager, you’ll ensure that the restaurant, café, and rooftop run smoothly and that guests leave with a smile every time.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

As Restaurant Manager, you’ll be the face of our restaurant “Papa’s Loft House,” inspired by the stories of Papa: Ernest Hemingway. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day operations and will ensure that everything, both behind the scenes and out front, is well organized.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing, coaching, and motivating the service staff;

• Creating staff schedules;

• Monitoring quality, service, and the guest experience;

• Inventory management and cost control;

• Coordinating events, such as BBQs and walking dinners in our restaurant and on the rooftop;

• Contributing ideas for improvements, new concepts, and the continued growth of Papa’s Loft House.

Papa’s Loft House is located on Gelderlandplein in Amsterdam and features a green rooftop. Here, guests can escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy good times and great food. Inside, the restaurant and Papa’s Café can accommodate approximately 200 guests, and the rooftop terrace can accommodate an additional 150 guests. In addition to the restaurant, you’ll also find our hotel: Element Amsterdam Hotel. Papa’s Beach House is located in the Haarlemmermeerse Bos in Hoofddorp, on a beautiful lake. Both locations offer various options for hosting private events, business receptions, and weddings.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF…

You work in the restaurant 4 or 5 days a week. At peak times between 12:00 and 2:00 PM & 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM you make sure you are on the floor, in between you have time for your administrative tasks. You are the link between the team and the Operational Manager and you also have weekly consultations with him. You make the schedule at least 3 weeks in advance, so you know exactly what you can expect! Work hard, play harder!

WHO ARE YOU?

• An enthusiast with a huge load of energy

• You have managerial experience in a restaurant

• You like a diverse and young team

• You enjoy motivating, directing and coaching your team

• We like it (not a must) if you have a diploma from the MBO or HBO hotel

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

• Salary between €2,800 and €3,400, in accordance with Job Group 6 of the Hospitality Collective Bargaining Agreement. Commensurate with your skills and experience.

• Participation in a bonus program; you, too, have an impact on our results, so if we achieve our goals, you’ll naturally share in the rewards! You can earn up to 12% of your gross annual salary!

• Two overnight stays per year at the Element Amsterdam Hotel or Courtyard Amsterdam Airport, and a free lunch or dinner with family or friends worth €200 every quarter.

• Travel allowance based on a sliding scale: 23 cents per kilometer for one-way trips of 7.5 km or more, with a maximum of €205.83 per month.

• Bike lease plan through Lease a Bike, with the option to lease a bike immediately after the trial period!
